Residence permits that unlock extra travel

If your passport has limited reach, a residence permit can dramatically expand where you can travel without a visa. Each permit below unlocks 5–15 extra destinations.

Also available: valid US B1/B2 visa, valid Schengen C-visa, US Green Card.

Why WanderWise exists

Existing visa checkers only handle one passport at a time. But millions of people hold multiple passports or residence permits that grant additional travel privileges.

An Indian citizen with a UAE residence permit can enter Georgia, Serbia, Turkey, and several other countries that an Indian passport alone cannot access visa-free. A US Green Card holder can travel to Mexico visa-free and to Canada with just an eTA, no matter what their original passport looks like. WanderWise finds these overlaps automatically so you don't miss the easiest path.

What we cover

  • 199 passports — every recognized country
  • 7 residence permit types — UAE, US Green Card, Schengen, UK, Canada, valid US visa, valid Schengen visa
  • Visa-free, visa on arrival, e-visa, and visa required classifications
  • Official sources linked for every residence-permit exemption and every re-verified visa pair
  • Day-limits shown where they apply (e.g. 90-day visa-free, 30-day VoA)

How we source this data

We're transparent about where each entry comes from — not every fact on this site carries equal weight, so we mark the ones that do.

Residence-permit exemptions (UAE, Green Card, Schengen, UK, Canada) are compiled manually from official government sources and linked per entry. These are the entries you can rely on most.

The bulk passport-to-country visa matrix is seeded from the open-source Passport Index Dataset — an excellent starting corpus, but community-maintained and unsourced per entry. We treat it as a reasonable default, not a verified fact.

High-traffic pairs are separately re-verified against embassy and ministry websites by an automated verification pipeline. Re-verified entries carry a badge and link to their official source. Anything without the badge is a community-dataset best-guess.

Visa rules change frequently. Always verify with the destination embassy or consulate before booking travel — no online tool replaces an official check.

Frequently asked questions

What is a multi-passport visa checker?
A multi-passport visa checker lets you enter all your travel documents at once — multiple passports, residence permits, and long-term visas — and shows the easiest way to enter any destination country. Unlike single-passport checkers, it finds exemptions you'd otherwise miss.
How does WanderWise decide which document to use?
Our algorithm ranks your documents by access strength per destination: visa-free > visa-on-arrival > e-visa > visa required. We always recommend the document that gives you the easiest legal entry, and we show you every option with official sources.
Which residence permits does WanderWise support?
We support seven of the most travel-useful permits: UAE Residence Permit, US Green Card, valid US B1/B2 visa, Schengen Residence Permit, valid Schengen visa, UK Biometric Residence Permit, and Canadian Permanent Resident card.
Is this tool free? Do I need to sign up?
Yes, 100% free. No account, no email capture, no data collection. We monetize with display ads only — your travel documents and search history are never stored or shared.
How accurate is the visa information?
Our data comes from three tiers of different confidence levels. Tier 1: residence-permit exemptions — hand-compiled from embassy pages with source URLs per entry. Tier 2: high-traffic passport → destination pairs are re-verified by our automated pipeline against gov sources (marked with a ✓ badge, source linked). Tier 3: the bulk passport matrix starts from the community-maintained Passport Index Dataset — a reasonable starting point, not a verified fact. See our full methodology for how the verifier works. Always confirm with the destination embassy before booking.
Which passport is strongest for travel?
As of 2026, Singapore, Japan, and several European passports top global rankings with visa-free access to 115–130+ countries. Our Singapore passport, Japanese passport, and German passport guides show the full lists.
